Dear Fellow Nobles,
I hope this letter finds you and all of your family doing well. This has been a very busy year, and as it draws to a close, I wonder where did it go? Summer is over and the kids have returned to school and most of us have enjoyed some vacation time with our families.
One of the most important dates in our history has just recently passed us by; let us never forget that tragic date of September 11, 2001. Let us all reflect on what happened that day, and how it changed this world forever!
I would once again like to thank all of those volunteers who give up their time and their selves to help us at our Texas Holdém and Bingo events, without you, we would not be able to keep these valuable fund raising events possible.
Helping children is our primary function as Shriners, and I was really reminded of this recently while passing the crowds of several parades as the spectators said, “Thank You for all you do.” Let’s all keep up the good work that we are doing as we help change the lives of these kids and their families. If you haven’t been as active as you feel you should, we will be more than happy to have you help in any way you possibly can.
As my term as president draws to a close, let me say Thank You. Thank you to all of the officers that helped make this a successful year. Thank you to all the members who helped with their actions and words of wisdom. Thank you to the Apet Shrine Guild for all of their hard work keeping their mission continuing education of the children who are patients of the Shriners Hospitals. Thank you for the privilege of being your president.
I would like to leave you with just one final thought, “You can’t put a price on what Shriners do…..so we do it for free.” May God bless you all, and thank you again.
Leslie Lawrence P.M.
